To all my readers,
It's hard to believe it's been 5 years since I launched MusicBoxPete on my old Blogspot page which has in turn completely changed my life for the better. It has given me the opportunity to interact with countless musical artists from the Boston area and all across the country to serve as a beacon for the independent world who can't obtain exposure anywhere else. I'm proud to represent the simple musician who thinks in their own frame of mind and does everything outside the norm of what they're expected to do, and it's really a honor to be a representative of this group.
When I started the site, my primary goal was to write album reviews once per week and have occasional features on music leaning pieces. But then I got the idea that I could do so much more and really integrate myself into the fabric of the local scene, so then I begun doing interviews with local musicians, feature up and coming bands in my recently retired Artist Spotlight series, and report on news stories pertaining to the music industry at large. What has resulted because of this is a site that I'm deeply passionate about and something that I think about each and every day on how I could make the site better, what direction I want to point the site in the future, and what financial avenues are possible because of it. I'm currently working on the latter option which I'll discuss with you at a later time.
Being from the Boston area, I'm constantly amazed of the depth of talent emanating from the city itself and surrounding areas that really represents the lifeblood of the city and is churning out music from all genres and spectrums across the board that is highly regarded as a cornerstone from different parts of the land. This site has completely shattered my expectations and has introduced me to so many incredibly talented musicians, some of which have become my closest friends and has helped my site become well known beyond the New England region and across the country, even across the world in the U.K. whose music scene I've covered to a great extent here on the site. This week is a celebration of the site and everything it has become.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of my fans and readers, your love and support of the site means more to me than you'll ever know. You have given so much energy, drive, and determination and I can't wait to continue bringing you the Boston music scene as I see it for some time to come. Thank you so much for taking this journey with me over the years, here is to the next 5 years and beyond!
