The Trophy Comes Home: Cleveland's Pride Shines Through In Their Music

Cleveland's quest for a championship ended last night when the Cavs beat the Golden State Warriors after coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win Game 7 93-89 in a thrilling contest that sees Akron, OH native Lebron James finally delivering on his promise to bring a championship to his home state, and end Cleveland's misery of 52 years without a professional sports title. This was a long time in the making, and was destined to end after Lebron came back to Cleveland two years after spending the last 4 seasons with the Miami Heat where he won 2 titles with them. Now that he's won a championship with Cleveland, people are wondering what else left he has left to prove? The series had everything you can ask for, with big contributions from supporting players like Kyrie Irving, and a much deserved championship for Kevin Love whom I adore with all my heart, and whose uncle is MIke Love one of the founding members of The Beach Boys where that musical lineage runs deep within his veins. Below is a playlist containing music from people in and around the Cleveland area, including some from Lebron's hometown of Akron:

The Black Keys - Gold On The Ceiling

Twenty One Pilots - Ride

Relient K - Be My Escape

Hawthorne Heights - Ohio Is For Lovers

The National - Bloddbuzz Ohio

Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song
