Based from the outskirts of Chattanooga, TN comes the deep and intriguing sounds of Dead Testaments, who have just put out a brand new EP titled "Mississippi Ave.". Their sound is described as noir rock with elements of post-punk and neo folk thrown in for good measure to create a reflective blend that largely resembles a stage of where the band are in their musical lives. I found their music to be very comforting, and offered up something different for the casual music listener that they weren't expected to react to, but are able to find a place for it in their lives nonetheless. It's great when bands are able to find influence from their surroundings, and that is exactly what Dead Testaments are able to do here, and create music that they all equally believe in and are willing to bring to the audience on a mass scale. A terrific undiscovered act that is worthy of delving deeper into.
