Since starting the site back in November 2009, it has been my opportunity and privilege to report on the happenings in the Boston music scene, from the shows happening around town, interviews with up and coming bands, and features on all the new music being released.
I treat this site as I would like any regular job and while I've never made one dime off of doing this site, it's a labor of love for me and something that I put a great deal of time and effort into every day. Back in September, I decided to go back to school to pursue a career in technical writing, and lately I've been finding it extremely difficult to balance between the two worlds. I'm announcing today that I will be taking an extended hiatus from writing for MusicBoxPete to focus on my studies. I will still continue posting the MusicBoxPete Podcast every Monday, and MusicBoxPete Live via my Facebook page will continue to air live every Friday as well. The writing won't stop entirely, as you'll still continue to see sporadic posts on the site every now and then, just not 5 days a week as you're regularly accustomed to. The MusicBoxPete name will continue to live on and always will in various forms, and you'll still see me out at a show around town. I've had a blast in the 8 years I've been doing this site, and I'm grateful for all the connections that I've made and the countless bands I've seen in concert, shared a beer with, interviewed, or chatted up after a show, I love you guys from the bottom of my heart. That also includes most importantly all of my readers who have followed me from the start, you guys make this site worth doing and I greatly appreciate all the support and well wishes over the years.
