Boston based indie folk group Jakals have just unearthed their brand new single titled "Keep Mother Sane". The track is a beautiful, honest portrayal of a burgeoning talent who have a deep bond and shared love of music, and that comes through brilliantly in the opening seconds of the track. Frontwoman Katie Solomon's voice is absolutely brilliant and superb, and touches off an emotional nerve that really makes you yearn and listen to the track multiple times over to take in different elements that you may have missed in the initial listen. I was totally floored the moment I first heard them, and they definitely have no frills attached to them whatsoever, which results in a track that is as pure and simple as can be. There is definitely an inherent connection between Katie and guitarist Jack Lewis pictured above, along with the rest of the group that has a strong musical syncopation to them that allows them to all stay on the same page musically, and know what's coming around the corner and how to keep musically connected to the audience which is an essential ingredient of any band to master the art of. A phenomenal newcomer on the scene that is definitely one to watch in the coming year.
