It's that time of year again where Apple Replay lists and Spotify Wrapped is all the rage, it's my end of year rundown of my picks for the top albums and songs from the year that was 2024. It was certainly an exceptional year for music, with a wide range of genres for everyone to marvel over, whether it was folk-rock, indie-rock, jam rock, or just plain pop there was a little bit of everything to whet everyone's appetite. For my top songs of the year award, and for the 3rd time in 5 years Chicago based Pretoria takes the crown for top song of 2024 with "Seven", while Haverhill, MA's own Henry Merit takes the top album of the year crown for his EP "Life The Way I Want It". It was an extraordinary year from top to bottom, and this year's rundown just further reflects that and all the extraordinary memories that each of these artists brought out when we were enjoying our summer travels and/or time spent with a loved one. They all played a huge role in making the year and those moments all the more special. And without further ado, here are my lists for top albums and songs of the year:
