Allston indie/surf rock maestros Today Junior are back with their summer infused single out to listeners eardrums today called "Coastlines". The song hearkens back to the indie/surf rock sound that the band first experimented with a decade ago on 2015's "Ride The Surf" that put them on the map and changed the musical DNA of the group to the point where they are now and for the better. Brothers Mike and Harry O'Toole, along with bassist Hannah Blauner have crafted a wave of sonic goodness that is too awesome to be conjured up on one track, and it hits that musical sweet spot that leaves you begging for more by the time the song has concluded. I was floored by this track the moment I heard it, and it grabbed my attention more than their previous new track "If You Want To" that the band dropped last month. Hannah's intricate bass lines lurking in the musical distance provide for a sneaky good track that commemorates the band's continuing musical mission to deliver escapist vibes and cutting edge musical warmth that the trio have continued to provide and deliver to audiences for years. Mike and Harry became instant musical brothers and part of my family the moment we met years ago, and hearing this track makes me feel even prouder to be associated with them.
