Medford is set to host their first ever edition of Porchfest, happening on Sat. June 3rd. Nearby cities such as Somerville, Winchester, Stoneham, Belmont, Arlington, and Melrose have hosted their own editions of Porchfest, but Medford will be hosting for the first time ever after much discussion. The festival involves homeowners letting musicians perform on their front porch, where musicians will make their presence known to the throngs of music fans walking up and down the streets, catching a glimpse of an artist that is deserving of their attention. I for one am absolutely enthralled that Porchfest is coming to Medford, seeing as that I'm a lifelong resident and have grown up here all my life. This is a terrific opportunity for local musicians, and for music fans from the surrounding towns to drop on by and learn what makes the city so special. With Medford set to open their first music venue Deep Cuts on May 20th, this is definitely the beginning of a musical renaissance in Medford, and Porchfest is the perfect way to usher in that new burgeoning revolution.
