Somerville, MA based musical collective Hush Club have released their latest track to the world today titled "Movie". The track is a groove laden affair, with frontman Alasdair MacKenzie's vocals hitting your eardrums at the sweet spot, and the song slow builds from there into an indelible jam that you'll be playing on repeat over and over again. In addition to Alasdair, the band consists of Chris Haley and Liz Kantor. I've adored Hush Club from the very beginning, and I've known Alasdair going back to his prior outfit New Dakotas whom I interviewed for my podcast back in 2017. What this band has built up in quite a short span of time is remarkable, and not just in their musical abilities but their incredible kindness and generosity towards their fans. The band offered homemade pizza to anyone who helped boost their TikTok presence, and for their upcoming gig at The Sinclair in Cambridge on Sept. 8, they'll be taking fans out for ice cream immediately after their performance. I don't know of a band that displays this immense level of love and admiration towards their fans, and having this kind of mutual admiration will go a long way in cementing Hush Club's status as one of the preeeminent local acts in the Boston scene right now. A splendid track that you need to be uneearthing right at this moment.
