Happy Spring Training everyone! I'm proud to kick off our 2nd Annual MLB Player Music Preview special today with a look at the music tastes of the Atlanta Braves. The Braves have some roots in Boston as they were founded in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings. Eventually, the team changed their name to the Boston Braves and then moved to Milwaukee in 1953, and then departed for Atlanta in 1966 where their name remains to this day. The team enjoyed a bevy of success in the 90's where they were one of the most consistent teams in baseball, winning the World Series in 1995 but failing to achieve any sustainable success after that. Today, we're going to preview this year's roster and highlight a few of the players as we try to get a fix on their music tastes that contributes to their quirky personalities. Here's a look at some of their picks:
B.J. Upton - Rick Ross "The Devil Is A Lie"
Chris Johnson - Jason Aldean "She's Country"
Craig Kimbrel - Guns N Roses "Welcome to The Jungle" (famous for his Praying Mantis pitching stance)
David Carpenter - Motley Crue "Kickstart My Heart"
Freddie Freeman - Avicii "Levels" (usually wears glasses, but noticably absent in this picture)
Jim Johnson - Foo FIghters "The Pretender"
Mike Minor - Imagine Dragons "Radioactive"
Nick Markakis - Bubba Sparxxx - "Deliverance"
Shelby Miller - Macklemore "Can't Hold Us"
