NYC piano rockers Scarlet Sails are gearing to make an appearance in the Boston area tomorrow night when they grace the stage at The Lizard Lounge in Cambridge. The group have been making some noise as of late with their brand new video for "I'll Be There" that is representative of the band's style and mystique with breathy vocals and a dimly lit musical perspective that allows you to get a feel of them right then and there. I don't listen to this type of music too often, but what struck me about the group was their ability to grab the listener's attention almost immediately, and pull them into their musical world that is brimming with creativity and passion. The group seem to have their own musical identity and self-worth right in front of them that is taking them all over the country on their summer tour that takes them through mid-August. The fact that they'll be kicking off the tour right here in Boston is a real honor and testament to the group's drive to make a positive first impression on listeners.
