Hamilton, Ontario based indie folksters Dark Mean kindly introduce themselves to American listeners on their brand new single "Settle Down". The song is an entranced, mellow affair with wistful guitar melodies and beautiful, awe inspiring vocals that are nothing short of incendiary and set the musical fire ablaze right from the get go. I was beyond enthralled the first time I heard these gents, and they really capture the spirit and enthusiasm of their sound quite well as they seem like laid back folks who appreciate each other and are all on the same page collectively when it comes to creating music together. For some bands, it's not easy to bring together people from different musical wavelengths, but these guys all have the same musical trajectory embedded within their system that has set a course for America and beyond with their majestic melodies grabbing listeners attention along the way. An extremely impressive act that is worthy of some love right here in the States.
