NYC based duo QTY have something up their musical sleeve when they stop by The Paradise on October 27 in support of their debut album. The band has a tightly wound, garage rock element to their style reminiscent of The Strokes in most aspects, but with their own musical identity forged within to balance out the existing framework, and expose something that is truly unique and original. I had a blast listening to the two from the get go, and they really seem to be in the midst of finding out who they are as musicians, which is a pivotal turning point for any band as it pretty much defines whether they'll make it or break it. It can be kind of nerve racking at times for any band to find their niche, and on their upcoming debut they will have firmly established themselves as an act to keep a watchful eye on in the days and months to come, and it's only a matter of time before the crowd grows even larger for these sonic masters to do their thing.
