Local Boston indie pop collective New Dakotas have unleashed onto listeners their brand new EP titled
"In The Dark" about a week ago, and are gearing up to play a big show at Eliot Grille near Harvard University in Cambridge this Thur. 10/26 at 9pm in support of the new effort. The guys have been one of my favorite local acts in quite some time as they have a unique and clever way of injecting melody along with complete, unheralded sonic beauty that just can't be matched by any other act out there. I got the chance to interview the guys on my podcast back in April, and I was blown away by their honesty and musical resolve that speaks volumes about their dedication to their craft, and their ability to keep listeners on their toes at all times. The guys also did a brilliant cover of Carole King's "It's Too Late" that was featured here on the site a few months ago, and it's apparent that there's nothing that Alasdair, Chris, Juan, and Scott can't do and we're left just simply marveling at their talent and every move they make at every turn. An immensely talented act that is only getting better as time rolls along.
