Chicago based garage/psych duo North by North are set to make their presence known to Boston area concertgoers when they grace the stage at Great Scott this Fri. 3/16 alongside local favs Nemes in what is sure to be a magical evening. If you're not familiar with North by North, you will be in due time as they sound is truly special, and doesn't hold anything back whatsoever. Comprised of Kendra Blank and Nate Girard, this duo has this incredible and magical bond between the two that when transposed together, creates an undeniable musical force that is unrelenting in its power and seeks to make the audience focus all their undivided attention in their general vicinity. I was impressed with what I heard from the group, and they define the independent spirit and what it means to truly step outside of the box and bask being in your element. Also playing that night will be Nemes who are close musical loves of mine, and with the brilliant violin stylings of Josh Knowles and frontman Dave Anthony's rapturous musical presence, it's definitely going to be one killer night in Allston Rock City for sure.
