From a small village in northern Ireland called Aghagallon comes the beautiful and poetic sounds of Ciaran Lavery, who will be performing locally at Cafe 939 right near Berklee on Fri. 6/23. Ciaran has a raw, kinetic energy to him that really makes you feel his pulse near you whenever his music plays. It evokes his Irish upbringing and is reflective on how deep he wants to connect with his listeners on a grander scale, which is the whole point of performing music in the first place. I immediately found a bond between myself and Ciaran listening to his music for the first time, and it dawned on me at how much it evokes who he is and where he currently is at this stage of his life. It's almost as if you're reconnecting with an old friend and catching up on old times. Ciaran is definitely going to be gaining plenty of more fans when he brings his show to the Boston area where everyone will be introduced warmly to him.
