Boston soul jazz quartet Lacy Kay & The Righteous Liars have just unearthed their brand new lyric video for the song "Kissing You". It's the 2nd track off their mini album series, with the 1st part having already been released and the second part due later this fall. When you take a listen for the first time, Lacy takes command of the song with an authoritative vocal presence unmatched like no other, and blends in smoothly with the ambient soul and jazz infused melodies heard at every turn. The group consists of Lacy Kay on lead vocals, Matthew Edwards on bass, Moira Appelbaum on keys, and Aaron Robertons on drums. The band also inflict some funk and pop elements thrown in for good measure that balances the sound out succinctly, and makes the band's diverse musical palette stand out for the listener immediately. I was a believer in Lacy Kay from the start, and the group have some tremendous staying power and the ability to stay in listeners minds long after the music has concluded. It's definitely worth your while to check them out in concert as their musical power is sure to be even stronger in person.
