Boston indie rockers Arms and Ears are gearing for a big show this Saturday night 1/19, when they grace the stage at Great Scott in Allston alongside Kid Disaster and Shiver. Arms and Ears have been a staple and fixture on the site going back the last few years, with the band's infectious spirit and musical enthusiasm clearly evident in everything the band puts out. The group consists of Rocco D'Angelo on lead vocals and guitar, Alex Martin on drums and percussion, Theresa Cleary on vocals and violin, Chris Goodwin on bass guitar, and Chris Mansi on keys and synth. The band's sound melds influences from each individual member to work up a musical stew that is rampant with infectious melodies, warm lyrics, and an overall enjoyable experience that will be hard to shake off. I actually remember seeing Rocco's old band Saving Alcatraz back in 2003 at the Immaculate Conception church hall shows, where there was a deep, emotional connection to music found in a hot, sweaty environment and where there was a true community for music. It's great seeing Rocco continue to pursue his passion and dream in this outfit also.
