With roots in both Boston and LA, glam rockers KOLARS are set to make a big splash when they hit up the Mid East Upstairs in Cambridge this coming Wed. 4/17. The duo consists of Rob Kolar and Lauren Brown, who happens to be a native Bostonian also. Their latest single "Touch The Lightning" was released just a couple of weeks ago, and is already generating some serious steam and is starting to ignite the curiosity of listeners near and far. I was really impressed with the group from the first listen, and what's most intriguing about the group is that they don't have a defined genre, so if you want to call them a "Desert Disco", "Glam-a-billy", or "Space Blues" outfit as their Facebook page says, you can go right ahead. But what's most important is that they have an inordinate amount of talent that is bursting at the seams, and are a duo that are primed for something special and are definitely going to make a big splash for sure moving forward. An intriguing act that is worthy of taking a closer listen to.
