Boston based indie surf/garage rock duo Kooked Out have released their debut album to the world just last week titled "Vis Viva". The album is a sprawling, kinetic collection of tunes that captures the band's distinct personality that ebbs and flows throughout, and does a great job of encapsulating the band's musical might all in one, fell swoop. The duo consists of John Fiore on lead vocals and guitar, and Chris Laskey on drums. The guys are no strangers to the site, having been featured multiple times and were interviewed for my podcast as well. The guys are experts to when it comes to marketing themselves, as they travel around in an old yellow school bus which echoes a serious punk rock vibe that just adds to the bands sleek and debonair invincibility. These guys have an insanely catchy and rhythmic vibe, and this effort does a great job of amplifying that sound while coupled with other distinct elements that give it a nice balance. A highly recommended effort from a very burgeoning and promising local talent.
You can stream "Vis Viva" right now on all major streaming providers and for more on Kooked Out, give them a 'Like' on Facebook over here, follow them on Twitter right here, see their pics on Instagram at this locale here, and please visit their official website at this perch here for more in depth info including shows coming up before the summer concludes.
