From the Golden State of California comes the hauntingly beautiful sounds of The 529's, whom have released their debut EP to the world this weekend titled "Do The RIght Thing". The disc is a searing, blissful collection of psychedelia influenced rhythms that will put you in a chill frame of mind right away that will leave you spellbound and fallen completely in love with musically by the time the effort has concluded. The band consists of Kiva Schweig on lead vocals and guitar, Roman Leitz on keys and vocals, Max Jenkins on mandolin, guitar, and vocals, Jacob Mayer on sax, Addie Chandler on bass and vocals, and Will Stokes on drums. The five piece are currently students at UCLA where they all met and came together in spirit of their shared love of music and have developed a reputation for the impromptu jam sessions and their neo-psychedelia sound that has a modern twist on it that you'll find some solace in. I was blown away by these guys from the start, and they have a unique way of interacting with their fans as they have been going around UCLA's campus having random people pick random tasks out of a hat and asked to complete, whether it be giving a stranger a high five or giving a compliment to the band member. It's these carefree moments that make this band stand out and hold you near, dear, and close to your heart. A spellbinding and carefree effort that you'll be spinning over and over again.
You can check out "Do The Right Thing" now available on Spotify and will be on all other major streaming services soon.
