Fall 2026 New Music Preview

It's hard to believe, but fall is just right around the corner and that means it's time to preview the last quarter of the year with my Fall 2026 New Music Preview special. For the 3rd annual edition, we highlight some of the forthcoming releases that will be on your new music radar very shortly as we make a last push towards the holidays and the end of the year hoopla. This is the sweet spot where we get bombarded with new album releases as artists make a final charge toward claiming some real estate on year-end best of lists, and try to ride some momentum into next year as well. There is a decidedly more local flavor on this year's issue, as we have some forthcoming releases from local favorites such as Today Junior and Sneaky Miles, along with some hotly anticipated releases from pop-punkers The Paradox and the long awaited return of The Calling with their first release in over 20 years. And without further ado, here are this fall's upcoming releases:

Sneaky Miles - Dyin' And A Dream (Sept. 3)

Newmarket, NH folk outfit Sneaky Miles are longing for the fall on their upcoming LP "Dyin' And A Dream". The outfit have increased their live presence as of late, playing a bevy of summer shows and also showing off some new material in their set list as well. The group have released a couple of new singles ahead of the LP's release, including the inescapable bop "Chapel Door", and the melodic thunderbolt of "Amber Brown". The guys are insanely enjoyable and have a sky high likability factor when you see them in concert and chat with them after a show. They have the biggest potential to become one of New England's most treasured acts.

Today Junior - Stranger Days (Sept. 4)

Allston, MA's pride and joy Today Junior are back with their hotly anticipated LP "Stranger Days". The boys Mike and Harry have been hot at work piecing the album together, and also continue to strengthen their deep bond as musicians and brothers by digging deep into their arsenal. The guys have released two songs in advance of the album's release, including the chugging "Keep On Pushing Me" and the eclectic "Werewolves of Boston", a unintended tribute to the demise of Blanchard's Liquors which will be closing in October as highlighted in the artwork for the single. The boys are ready to conquer the city of Boston one note at a time.

Milk St. - Good Grief (Sept. 25)

Bangor, ME indie-rock trio Milk St. are gearing for the hotly anticipated release of their effort called "Good Grief". The band has a sound that is a musical smorgasbord of sorts that is hard to pin down, but lead singer Jonah Wakefield is incredibly charismatic with his frog-styled beanie and eclectic stage presence that is a big hit with concertgoers and music fans alike. Don't sleep on this band, they have all the necessary musical tools at their disposal to burrow out a special place in your heart for their musical exploits and hijinks.

The Calling - Before The World Turns To Dust (Sept. 25)

Pop-rockers The Calling are back after a lengthy hiatus with their third full length release titled "Before The World Turns To Dust". The disc is the group's first since 2004's "Two" that sees the group emerge from the shadows after many years apart. Lead singer Alex Band endured some health struggles with Parkinson's that was later misdiagnosed, and he also performed some solo shows and released some material apart from the band during that time. The guys return refocused, recharged, and ready to retake their place amongst the ever changing music scene that has served them well in the past, going back to their 2001 debut LP Camino Palmero that scored them a career defining hit with "Wherever You Will Go" that is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. This is one album that you don't want to skip over for sure.

The Paradox - Proceed With Caution EP (Oct. 2)

Atlanta, GA based pop-punkers The Paradox are gearing up to release their sophomore EP titled "Proceed With Caution". Listeners have already been forewarned of the group's musical abilities playing the Vans Warped Tour recently, and have become one of the preeminent forces on the scene with their old school approach when it comes to marketing themselves to the masses. The guys bring the vibe and energy of blink-182 and New Found Glory to a more modern aesthetic, but still keep the hope and spirit alive and well with their youthful appeal and charm. The singles "I Kinda Like That" and "Good For Me" make the waiting time for this release more than worth it.
