Lorde's "Royals" Banned By San Francisco Radio Stations During The World Series

Lorde's big hit from last fall "Royals", has been banned by radio stations in the San Francisco area for the duration of the World Series. Radio station KFOG issued this post on their social media accounts explaining the reason behind the ban:

"No offense, Lorde, but for the duration of the World Series, KFOG Radio will be a 'Royals'-free zone. We're sure you understand,"

This is a perfectly reasonable explanation behind the ban as the song was inspired by Lorde seeing a picture of George Brett in a 1985 issue of National Geographic. While the song is actually by obtaining enormous wealth, the song does have its roots with the Kansas CIty Royals and the SF area doesn't want to be involved with promoting that song on the airwaves for the World Series. Both the Giants and Royals do find common ground in Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'", who are from the San Fran area and is mostly used at pumping up the crowd in their respective stadiums.
