Boston natives Fantastic Liars definitely made their voice known with their recent performance at The Mid East Upstairs along with Peachpit and Rye Pines for Today Junior's CD release show. The band has a dynamic and diverse musical arsenal, coupled with some incredible sax work from Craig McKeone who adds a jazzy feel to the collective that is hard to pin down genrewise. David Hodgman adds some solid vocal work, while Julian Hammond displays some slick work with the bass that builds upon a strong rhythmic foundation that just builds expotentially. Drummer Tim Mitchell provides the backbone for that said rhythmic framework, coupled with some frenzied excitement that usually results in his shirt coming off during the performance, displaying his sweaty bod and strong work ethic to the crowd. An amazing live act that definitely deserves some of your attention.
