Direct from Beijing comes the raw and unfiltered post-punk sounds of Re-TROS who will be stopping by locally at ONCE Ballroom in Somerville on 7/23. The band is touring on the heels of their forthcoming studio album "Before The Applause", and they have a dynamic and mysterious aura about them that can't be matched by any other act currently out there today. Their live set moves along at a chugging pace, allowing you to wait in fervor and anticipation of what's laying around the corner. It's almost like a horror film waiting for someone to jump out of the shadows or hover over you without knowing. It's this stunning accompaniment to their music with these eerie melodies that keeps you on the edge of your seat that makes it all the more worthwhile for you to listen intently. I was stunned with what I heard from Re-TROS from the outset, and I definitely look forward to hearing more of their music in the near future. An absolutely stunning act that is most certainly a required act to see perform live.
