Bristol, UK based This Is The Kit is set to make an appearance in the Boston area when she stops by Great Scott in Allston this coming Tuesday Oct. 24. Originally going by the name Kate Stables, she has spent time in Paris as well among other areas, and has been making music since the early 00's that is best described as an incarnation of folk and blues that is juxtaposed for the listener to make sense of. Releasing her debut album "Moonshine Freeze" in July that has garnered grand critical acclaim thus far, Kate seeks to build upon some of that burgeoning press right here in the Boston area where her music will be sure to receive a grand reception upon arrival. I was definitely intrigued by her sound, which definitely has that folk blueprint but has some other elements to balance the existing framework, and allows listeners from other genres to appreciate the creative ingenue and drive that she has set forth. A supreme talent that is most certainly worth it to watch unfurl right before you.
