From the outskirts of South Windsor, CT comes the indie/emo sounds of Bonsai Trees, who will be hitting up The Mid East Upstairs in Cambridge this coming Tue. June 11. The group has a wide ranging sound that is equal parts indie and emo, with a strong emphasis being put on melody and making the audience feel comfortable with the group right from the get go. The band consists of James MacPherson on lead vocals and guitar, Nick Sokol on drums, Larry Sniscak on bass, and Jon Herroon on guitar. I met James a couple of years ago at O'Brien's when he was a part of the group Manic Pixi, and became absolutely enamored with his immense talent and swooning good looks that make him so aesthetically pleasing as a musician. There's definitely much to be desired from the group, and it will definitely be worth your while to check out these talented gents in person and see what they have to offer you.
