Interview w/ Albany, GA Based Rock Outfit Days To Come

Give us your name and your roles in the band?

Justin: My name is Justin Goodson and I’m the vocalist for Days To Come. Brandon Rix is our guitarist and Jalen Hall is our drummer.

Take us behind the formation of the group and how you all met?

I went into a local music store in Albany, GA one day before a gig to pick up some guitar strings, and I mentioned to the sales guy that I was looking to start a band. He got me in touch with Brandon and we’ve been together ever since. That was back in 2013.

We’ve had a few lineup changes over the years and Jalen joined us in 2018. He’s a gem. Very talented guy.

Describe your early musical influences and how they have helped shape and inspire you to this day?

Brandon: I grew up loving Slash, Steve Vai, and AC/DC. Gear helps shape my sound, but wanting to become great at guitar is what my earlier influences made me want to be.

How would you describe your band's sound to those who aren't familiar with you?

Hard rock with nonsensically high vocals.

What is the energy and joy you get out of playing and recording music, how big of a rush do you feel?

Jalen: Few things in life give me as much pleasure as making music and being able to share it with the world. The true rush however, is when someone tells us how our songs have helped them through tough times.

Talk about the recording of your latest release, and what it was like to put it all together?

Brandon: We tracked the drums for our latest single, Wolves, at Earthsound Recording in Valdosta, GA with Lee Dyess. We tracked everything else on our own and sent it back to Earthsound for the mix/master.

Besides music, what do you like to do in your spare time?

Jalen: Video games. All day. Everyday.

What's coming up next for you, any future shows or new music you'd like to promote?

Well, we just released our new single Wolves and next month we are gonna start our biggest tour ever for Rock Fest all the way in Wisconsin.

How can fans find out more info about you online?

Justin: We’re on all the social sites - @daystocomemusic. You can check out our website too, daystocomemusic.com.

Lastly, what is the one thing you enjoy the most about being in a band together?

Jalen: I'm fortunate enough to be in a group of guys that all have the same ideals and integrity about music and what needs to be done to give our fans the best and only the best. Shows are extremely fun just for the nergy alone. Sleeping is cool though.
