From Grand Rapids, MI comes the explosive sounds of the alt/post-hardcore trio Crooked Heart, who released their latest album just last week titled "Perpetual Twilight". The disc in an unrelenting, unflinching piece of mastery with incendiary guitar sounds, high pitched vocals, and a strong musical sensibility that will keep you immersed and intrigued all the way throughout. The group consists of Aaron Mace on drums, Anthony Robert on bass, and Elijah Wyman on guitar and lead vocals. Their sound is a mixture of Underoath and other like minded and modern influences juxtaposed on top of searing rhythms and a strong musicality that has made them such a promising act. I really found myself with these guys and felt comfortable with their overall sound, and the trajectory of where they're headed down the road. An incredibly promising act that I look forward to hearing more from in the near future.
